We are somewhere between winter and spring (which will generally take all March...):The weather here is constantly grey: no matter if it is dry or rainy, the sky is covered with clouds and the ground is grey with melting snow and ice. My grey background has been stamped with leftover rubber from cutting out unmounted rubber stamps. I attached the strips to an acrylic block with Tack'n Peel and spread Weathered Wood on them with an ink blender. After stamping the flowers I bleached out the grey inside them with water. The flowers were coloured with Inktense pencils and Covered with some Glossy Accents. Then I realized, that the off white background wasn't white enough for the flowers! At first I thought I couldn't do anything about it because the Glossy was already there, but ended up adding some white sharpie on top of the Glossy Accents.

First snowdrops
I wasn't expecting to see my snowdrops before the end of March, but we have been having an extraordinary warm time in Finland these few last weeks, and the first flowers are out! I decided to make an ATC in their honour, with the date of course, so I might be able to make a comparison next year :) i am entering this ATC for the Stampotique Designers Challenge (Use numbers), the Country View challenge (Anything goes), the SimonSaysStamp Monday challenge (a hint of clover) and the Unrulypaperarts challenge (I should be so lucky). Lucky for the flowers, but also lucky to have got my hands on a typewriter! This was the first text I typed to try if the age old ink tape still worked.

I enjoyed reading how you made your ATC! How clever using up the waste red rubber to make the background. And I never knew you could use a sharpie on top of glossy accents. All very inspirational! You will have a lovely reminder now of your spring flowers for next year. Thank you for joining in the SDC blog this week with my numbers challenge.

Fabulous make! Love what you did here and thanks so much for joining us at Countryview challenges!
VastaaPoistaOooh I love how you've used the left over rubber Kristiina, brilliant idea. I always think snowdrops are such brave little flowers, they look so delicate yet put up with such harsh conditions. Thank you so much for sharing your fabulous ATC with us at Stampotique. Sue xx
VastaaPoistaWhat a sweet little ATC celebrating signs of Spring! I'm so glad that your flowers are alive and peeking their heads through the ground. I can't wait to see flowers bloom in my part of the world, too. This ATC is so lovely because of the subtle color palette you used and I think you captured the delicacy of the snowdrops perfectly! I also really like how clever you were to use leftover rubber to stamp the background. Great solution with the white Sharpie over the Glossy Accents, too. You've definitely taught and inspired with this post and I'm so glad you shared your time and talents with us for this week's Simon Says Stamp Monday Challenge!
