Adventure awaits

Here is my Tim Holtz-inspired March tag. Once again I faced the fact of not having Distress Paints and TH metal trinkets and sentiments... But I love butterflies and embossing texture paste was something new, so that was inspiration enough! I am also posting this tag for the Rubberdance March challenge (lime-lemon-orange), the SimonSaysStamp Monday challenge (B is for...butterflies) and the Country view challenge (Anything goes)

I used strips of TH tissue paper and old music paper to make a collage on the background. They were adhered with Glue'nSeal. I mixed some orange and light green acrylic paints and smudged them and plain yellow on the tag with my fingers. I also used some light blue pearl acrylic paint, but it practically dissapeared into the green. My clear embossing powder is not very good, so I decided to do the stamping with black embossing powder (Zing).

 I masked of the images with washi tape and spread texture paste through the TH stencil with rays. It seemed like a good idea until afterwards when I realized that the embossing will cover about half of the surface of the tag! I slept over night to let the paste dry before heating the embossing powder, and decided this was bling enough without trinkets. The butterfly is from Kaisercraft and the sentiment from VivaLasVegaStamps. I thought that a yellow background would be nice for the photographs, but now the golden embossing looks silver!

As on my earlier tags I also did the back of this tag: sprayed with some Dylusions inks for colour and Tattered Angels for mica. The stamps are from VivaLasVegaStamps.
