WOYWW -296

It's wednesday again, and that means it is time for fun blog hopping to crafty desks (and whatever other workspaces people happen to have) around the world. All the posts can be found here at Julia's blog. Here's my mess today:

This pic is from tuesday afternoon, and as you can maybe see I'm working on the craft barn February calendar page, and I have bits from previous crafty stuff spread around too. The children have had fever, and there is a game on the desk. To the right you can see a lovely little box decorated by my daughter. I almost finished the calendar page in the evening and cleaned my table so I can do some "real work" this morning.

On the floor in my "messy work" spot is the beginning of my TH February tag. I don't know why (perhaps because I have always found it difficult) I've never liked doing collage...but I'm telling myself it will look better after the distressing part... I realised during the weekend that I can use crafting to force myself to do chores (you can check out this post) so I continued the same way on monday morning: I went out with the dog and shovelled some snow, after which I treated myself to some stamping and a cup of tea. Then I scrubbed the bathroom, after which I gave myself permission to colour the stamped images. After that I hurried to clean the upstairs bathroom knowing that as soon as it was done I could fussy cut my images. Wondering what to do next, I luckily remembered that our bed linen needed to be changed...after which I put together my card, and was just in time at work (I had a lesson starting at 12.30). I really felt satisfied with myself, and today I have a chemistry exam to go through that my students did yesterday... I believe this will be a crafty day, and I will get both the work and that tag done! Probably no time for hopping at desks though, until Saturday.

As for the snow: here is our garden yesterday...the view is from our living room window (what the dog is looking at in the upper photo ) No dreaming of snowdrops for a long time, but this is so beautiful I don't wonder why the Finnish flag is white and light blue!

  1. What a great idea!!! I know I put off my housework for as long as possible, and I don't truly enjoy my crafting when I know I should be doing something else. Wonderful compromise!! Have a great week & God bless!

    Happy Crafting!

  2. Great Idea doing chores then rewarding yourself with some crafting. I never feel I can craft if I have jobs to do so sometimes I do neither lol. Love your snowy view, it's beautiful.
Lots of creativity going on in your room too. Hugs Lottie #78

  3. Oh, you're much better at the housework than me. I clear away visual clutter because it bugs me, but everything goes by the wayside when I need to create!

Thanks for the visit to my blog earlier and for the kind words.

    Happy creating and happy woyww,

  4. I've been painting in my hallway this morning and am happy to report it is finished. Now on to my large living room! I will take tomorrow and do some cleaning, laundry and taping and maybe even make a card or two. But I do love how it looks outside your window. I long for a snow day!

  5. Hi Kristiina! I often combine housework with crafting - I utalize the drying time to do bits of housework in between layers. You've got some lovely snow there! Happy WOYWW! zsuzsa @ InkyDinkyDoodle #34

  6. I have to say I am a bit like Zsuzsa I use the time between drying stuff or waiting for glue to set to keep up with the housework. The garden looks lovely, just a bit of snow here though they have forecast more to come. Have a great week and happy crafting, Angela x 33

  7. What a beautiful scene from your window. I love your reward system, I'm not sure I would be strict enough with myself. I'm so easily distracted ;-)

  8. Thanks you for visiting me earlier and for your lovely comments. I have 6 machines...an industrial sewing machine, 2 computerised machines, an overlocker, a blind hemmer and an embellisher....and I use most of them every week :-) I've never heard of a coverlock though.
I love your snowy pics but am so glad it's there and not here :-)
    Hugs,

  9. Your view is amazing, I cannot imagine snow like you have it seems almost magical. Eucalyptus leaves have the smell rather than the flowers. But I love the unusual shape of the flowers and always add the leaves just for the smell. Have a lovely week.

  10. What a lovely view. I hope the children are better now. I often do like you, and treat myself to some crafting between chores - it makes them much more manageable and enjoyable. Have a great week, Chris # 11
